Sustainable Supply Chain Management in a Circular Economy: A Bibliometric Review

Since the mid-2010s, circular economy has emerged as a key conceptual lever in corporate efforts to achieve greater environmental sustainability. Corporations have increasingly drawn upon perspective rethink sustainable supply chain management practices. This new approach is evident an emerging literature that yet be fully documented. In this systematic review of research, bibliometric methods were applied database 709 Scopus-indexed documents. Author co-citation analysis identified four schools thought comprising intellectual structure literature: Sustainable Production and Environmental Management, Supply Chain Reverse Circular Economy. Synthesis these themes suggests adoption transforming two important ways. First, reorients away from narrow focus on efficiency waste reduction towards paradigm redesign, reuse, product transformation. Second, highlights leverages reverse cycles chain.
